Discovery Green is the focus of a large office, retail and green space development spanning three blocks.  According to the Houston Chronicle, the “1550 on the Green” development, which will be at 1550 Lamar St., will include a 28-story office building overlooking the entertainment-and-retail space, and the tower already has a significant client:  Norton Rose Fulbright, the third-largest law firm in America, has signed a long-term lease agreement starting in 2024, and will acquire naming rights to the tower.  The building will include two roof terraces dedicated to tenants on the 12th and 20th floors, and will have 7,000 square feet of ground-floor retail, along with tree-lined pedestrian zones.  Skanska bought the  $55 million in October 2019. The project is part of a 3.5-acre site, which Skanska bought a little more than a year ago, and the Chronicle reports that it “includes the full city block just east of the Four Seasons Hotel, bordered by Dallas, Lamar, LaBranch and Austin, as well as the property just to the east of the block, surrounding the Embassy Suites Hotel, and property just to the south.”
