FDA Says Houston Area COVID-19 Tests Are Giving False Negatives

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the FDA is warning some tests administered at Minute Maid Park and other local testing sites have been giving false negatives.  The federal agency said that Curative brand tests should be used only for people who are experiencing symptoms within 14 days of the test, and that providers such as the Texas Department of Emergency Management should screen patients carefully to reduce the chance that a false negative is given.  Curative tests have been used in at least six other Houston sites, including the Memorial Park Conservancy and some Kroger stores.
