Former Golf Course to Become Regional Detention Basin

Another piece of land is slated for repurposing, this this time in the Champion Forest Neighborhood in Spring.  A chunk of the former Raveneaux Country Club golf course will be converted into a regional stormwater detention basin, which will help flooding in the surrounding areas. The country club was well-known in the area for 50 years, and it will be closing its doors on Jan. 20.  Champion Forest home prices have risen 3.9 percent over the past year, according to Redfin, and the average sale price is $400,000.
