Houston to Receive Fourth “Crystal Lagoon”

Houston is becoming the Land of Lagoons–specifically, the “crystal lagoons”, which have clear water and reproduce a tropical island lagoon straight out of the Bahamas.  CultureMap is reporting on the Houston area’s fourth in Katy’s Sunterra development, which will cover 3.5 acres, or four football fields.  It will have a clubhouse, pool, several beaches and an island.  Sunterra is being built on more than 1,000 acres, and is slated to feature 2,200 homes on 870 homesites, some of which will be gated.  The first crystal lagoon was in Generation Park’s Balmoral subdivision in 2018, on Houston’s northeast side, followed by one in Lago Mar in Texas City. A third lagoon is being built in Sierra Vista, off of Highway 288.
