Plans to replace the sprawling 50-acre Halliburton campus near Chinatown on the far west side are in process. The bowtie-shaped building is being torn down, and according to Bizjournals.com, parts of the campus were recently used by the fire and police department for training exercises. Bizjournals says the master plan is being put together by Johnson Development Services and the Houston office of Gensler, and the space will include office, retail and residential spaces. Leasing is already underway, and is being managed by Transwestern. Living and working in the area offers great bonuses: In addition to easy access to Beltway 8, the property is adjacent the 200-acre Arthur Storey Park, and it sits along the Brays Bayou Greenway Trail.
